As we’ve said, our Scotties are extremely important to us and we want to ensure they’re going into a safe environment with a family who understands the Scottie temperament. Scotties have the jaw strength of an 80-pound dog; they’re stubborn, and if they see a squirrel (or a groundhog, or a bunny), they’re after it. Like a rocket. Even if you have an invisible fence, a Scottie will quickly penetrate that barrier (because it really isn’t a barrier), chasing anything and everything that’s running from them.
During initial contact we send out a questionnaire because we want to know several things about potential clients:
Do you have experience with Scottish Terriers?
Do you have a fenced yard?
How much time do you plan to spend outside with the Scottie?
How much hours will the Scottie be left alone?
Where will the Scottie be kept when alone (if you have to leave the house)?
Are you interested in a Shirescot Scottish Terrier? We would love to know more about you, your goals and expectations. Send us a general email with your questions at jeffwaite1876@gmail.com. We can’t wait to hear from you.
